Altenew Educator Certification Program · Cardmaking

An Exciting Adventure!

I’m so very excited to say that I’ve been accepted into the most recent group for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. After my first class in Layering, these are the 5 cards I created while playing with my various sets of layering stamps.

I really loved making this card. I don’t often have so much white space but this just seemed to work!.

Altenew really excels at floral layering sets. They have such a wide variety of styles and designs. The stamp set for this card is Vintage Flowers from Altenew. The Bold Thanks die set and inks are as well. The sentiment is cut from Gold metallic paper from Recollections and the shadow layer from their 29lb vellum

This is also done with the same Vintage Flowers set and Altenew inks. The sentiment die set is from Simon Says Stamp.

For this card I was happily practicing and playing with colour combinations and was so happy with my ‘practice piece’ I had to make it into a card. This is also the Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set and inks. The Sentiment is the Happy Birthday Brush Script from Simon Says Stamp with a Bronze metallic paper from Recollection with a shadow of their velum as well.

The same set is so versatile and can give such a variety of looks. The stamped sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and done in two layers of Altenew ink including the metallic gold.

The last two are done with the Altenew Build-a-Flower: Anemone Coronaria stamp set & inks. The first sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio and the second from Simon Says Stamp.

All these cards are a standard A2 top fold base made with Accent Opaque 100lb. The front panels are all done on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb. The splatters are made with a Jen Hadfield gold glitter spray, Pewter and Perfect Bronze Perfect Pearls mixed with a bit of water. I let the cards dry a bit between splatters to keep the colours from mixing up too much.

  1. Your cards are beautiful, but I’m wondering if you made the same mistake that I did. For All About Layering 1, even though there are many classes you only needed to make one card.

    1. Hi Mary-Lou. Thank you for your lovely comment. I did know that we only needed one card per lesson, but I was having so much fun I got carried away! I admit that after reading the outline of the lesson I was unclear so I went back to my initial emails and information there.

  2. Thank you so much for submitting your wonderful work! LOVE seeing all the gorgeous cards in one post! You can share as many cards as you want as long as you share them in one post 🙂 Though we don’t want to burden you and ask you to share your best one. But I am looking at all these gorgeous creations and I am SO glad that you decided to share all of them with us! 🙂 Thank you, Kim! 🙂 If you have questions, I am an email away!
