For the Irresistible Inking Techniques class for my AECP I chose the simple and elegant Altenew Tall Foliage stamp set to layer over one of my favourite gel press backgrounds. I wanted to match the subtle inking and shine on the background, and I felt that this stamp set could mimic that feeling. This card is a side fold A2 base made from Accent Opaque 100lb cardstock.
I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then embossed with a fine detail clear embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. Using clear embossing keeps me from smudging the ink and helps keep me in the lines when painting! I used my glass mat as a palette and smooshed down Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks in Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Forest Glades & Moss, added a spritz of water, and painted in the images with the ink.
I stamped the sentiments from the Tall Foliage Set after the painted images dried, using Deep Iris and Jet Black. Tho it’s hard to capture with a camera the background has a lot of shimmer from using pigment powders when the gel print was made so I didn’t feel the need to add any extra bling, since I wanted the painted images and background to be what would draw the eye. I matted it with a 1/16″ of Purple Shimmer paper to tie the colours together.

Great card 🙂 I like how you’ve done the neutrals, they’re not so easy 🙂
